Professor P. Elliott

Perry Elliott is Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at University College London and a Senior Investigator of the UK National Institute for Health Research.
He is director of the UCL Institute of Cardiovascular Science UCL and a consultant cardiologist at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital London.
He is Chairman of the ESC Heart Academy and past chair of the ESC Council on Cardiovascular Genomics, the ESC Working Group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases and the Executive Committee for the European Outcomes Research Programme registry on cardiomyopathies. He is an executive Editor for the European Heart Journal.

For almost 30 years, he has led numerous international consortia and has made substantial scientific and policy contributions including clinical risk tools, discovery of rare and common genetic causes of inherited heart conditions, and US and European Practice guidelines. He is founder and chair of the International Cardiomyopathy Network and President of Cardiomyopathy UK.
